Over the last ten or more years ice fishing has grown to be popular with better electronics equipment and gear and knowledge. Take every precaution when fishing at night out on the ice. The first couple of times out, one will hear noises that are uncommon during the and ice will be talking to you with cracking, popping, as a whale calling for is mate with water sloshing out of ice hole around the souls of your rubber boots. Fishing under the moonlight with the stars shinning above or snuggled up in the heated ice shanty is awarding experience. Shunning crowds proves to be not much of a problem at night as compared to fishing during the day. The daylight hours. Game fish are sensitive to light because of the way their eyes are structured. Light bouncing from the underside of the ice can irritate them and cause them to seek darker areas in the water. If you were to look into a light bulb it is not pleasant, the same holds true with the game fish. Two ice holes about 5-7 feet apart. There are several reasons for this: Tangle lines from fishing lines around your fishing light that can prove to be a challenge or better yet a nightmare! You would almost have to cut fishing line and pull up light and finish untangling the line from the light. Put your Reel Lite in one hole to attract zoo plankton therefore attracting bait fish. In the other hole, that should be at least located 5-7 feet away, do the actual fishing from that hole. Walleye and Crappie will not come direct into the light but prefer to stay out the lime light. Your game fish are a predator fish, which will attack bait fish just outside the range of the Reel Lite. If you elect to use Coleman lantern for baiting hooks etc. Set it on a super soft glow away from the actual fishing hole. Suggest putting it by the Reel Lite ice hole or another location. Make sure that it is not near the actual fishing hole. Reason for setting on soft glow is that the light will cast shadows from your body across the ice and spook your game fish.

Hey Bob, we made it out fishing tonight. I got 4 pictures for you. One is with
the flash on and the other 3 are without. Boy that light is bright. Had a friend
with Sandy & I and he couldn't believe how bright it was. The light made a
glow about 10-12 feet all the way around the shanty. It is some light for sure.
I'll let you post whatever pictures you want. I guess you knew Sandy broke
her leg? Did it getting off the quad after ice fishing. Gets the cast off in
about 3 weeks... Hope all's well at your cabin...
